What to say about a cat that I referred to as my "Familar"? The beautiful Miss Desireé
was all black with huge yellow eyes - I also called her my "Halloween kitty",
except that she was not skinny or scary. Dez was simply beautiful in a very lovely
and truly catlike manner. Her middle name was Miss Intrepid because she had NO FEAR.
This worried me, until I realized that she was truly adroit and if she got herself
into something she usually knew how to get out of it - but only when she wanted to get out!
She used to sit next to me and stare at me and purr and purr and purr! I remarked
upon this one day to a friend who quite wisely replied, "She's sitting there ADORING you!"
And that made PURRFECT (haha!) sense. She was a real cuddlebug, loved to be held,
loved contact with ANYONE. A very SENSUAL cat. Her passing (at age sixteen)
left a very large void in my house. If ever it is proven that people have animal "soulmates",
I believe Desireé was mine.
